Welcome to the Trojan Records official website and forums
The long-awaited 'Best of Millie/My Boy Lollipop' CD is finally in the shops, with copies currently available from all good music stockists, including Amazon UK and Play.Com.
As previous announced, the 20 track collection features many of the singer’s most sought after material from her spell with Island and Fontana Records, from 1963 to 1968.
The majority of the recordings make their official CD debut and have been unavailable on any format for over thirty years, with highlights including her UK chart hits, ‘My Boy Lollipop’, ‘Sweet William’ and ‘Bloodshot Eyes‘. Also of note are a wonderful version of ‘Hey Boy – Hey Girl’ on which she is accompanied by a youthful Jimmy Cliff, some sublime recordings featuring Jamaican Jazz legend, Ernest Ranglin, and the previously unissued original backing track to the singer’s signature tune, replete with the original (unused) harmonica break, performed by British R&B hero, Jimmy Powell.
