Dennis Alcapone
Having built up a local following fronting his own El Paso sound system in the late sixties, DJ Dennis 'Alcapone' Smith burst into the national psyche with a series of hit recordings for virtually every Jamaican producer of note.
His incredible run of chart successes ensured that up until his relocation to London in 1973, not even the mighty U Roy could seriously challenge his dominance as Reggae‘s most popular DJ.
Although he has since failed to repeat the glory of these early years, he remains a hugely respected figure on the Reggae scene.
